Choosing the right population forecast for local area planning: case study

Glenn - The Census Expert

Glenn is our resident Census expert. After ten years working at the ABS, Glenn's deep knowledge of the Census has been a crucial input in the development of our community profiles. These tools help everyday people uncover the rich and important stories about our communities that are often hidden deep in the Census data. Glenn is also our most prolific blogger - if you're reading this, you've just finished reading one of his blogs. Take a quick look at the front page of our blog and you'll no doubt find more of Glenn's latest work. As a client manager, Glenn travels the country giving sought-after briefings to councils and communities (these are also great opportunities for Glenn to tend to his rankings in Geolocation games such as Munzee and Geocaching).

Population forecasts lack one, and one, element only, what the immigrant has between their ears and how, or will, they practice it, are they socially acceptable to community and Gov. of the day to live with in the Aust population in streets, suburbs, cities, states, without having pot shots at the locals who won’t tolerate their discord to living and addition cost on the Gov. of the day which is all out of the P.A.Y.E. tax & G,S,T, contribution. Many senior males think every time we lift our pen, pencil, to complain, they are regarded as old uneducated fools, perhaps we should be lifting a rifle to finalise the problem. Very sorry state when it comes to this, but will we ever have a common sense Gov. Fed, State, then unconstitutional local councils, there are more dip sticks in these offices, than in the Korean Kia car company

  2. Hi Gus, thanks for your comment but this blog is about population forecasting, not a debate about immigration.

Different state governments’s population forecasting units might have different methods and aptitudes in forecasting population!

Yet the State Government does track individual sites through the Metropolitan Development Programme.
Why then is this data allegedly not incorporated?
