    • Hi Chris,

The ABS produces Estimated Resident Population for SA2s in 3218.0 – Regional Population growth
      http://www.abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/mf/3218.0/

This shows the suburb of Robina grew from 21,584 people in 2011 to 22,751 in 2014. While the broader Robina district (SA3, which includes Varsity Lakes and Merrimac) grew from 47,200 to 49,713 people in the same time.

For specific characteristics at the local level you’d need to wait until the next Census (2016).

Hi, great blog. Any idea what is going on with the rate of natural increase? It seems to have fallen off a cliff.

Makes perfect sense, the recession left the pound and euro weak and the dollar high, which would’ve deterred many from moving to Australia. It also meant property in Europe became cheap as an equivalent, making it a lucrative move for anyone moving back “home” for their retirement.

Will there be a 2016 census? I heard it may be cancelled?
